Krugerrand Value?
My grandfather was an avid coin collector and he had quite a collection of gold Krugerrand coins. He passed away recently and I now have his collection. I don’t know anything about Krugerrand value, so I’m wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a good and reliable sourse for information.
There seem to be a lot of sites that want to change for ebooks and services to determine Krugerrand value, but I want to find some free information that will give me a general idea. I did find one Krugerrand Value site that gives some history and other information but not a lot on prices.I don’t plan to sell the coins right away, but I would like to have some idea of what the collection is worth even if it is just a general ballpark figure.
I don’t think these are pure gold as he had some other gold coins and the color is quite a bit different. I’m guessing that there is some other metal alloyed with the gold and I don’t know if that reduces the value or not.

If you are lucky enough to own some gold coins you will want to keep track of your gold coins value. That holds true especially of you are more of a gold investor than a coin collector. Things like the American Eagle 0r the Double Eagle can be of great interest to both the investor and the collector.
With the high cost of gold today you need to really careful about how much you pay for gold coins because the gold prices do have an effect on gold coin prices too.
Some coin collectors find it appalling that people would melt down gold coins in order to sell the m for scrap gold, but it happens. Then on the other hand some collectors and some investors think this is actually a good thing because it makes the rare gold coins even more rare and drives up the gold coins value in the marketplace.
